The Yellow Tang has a solid yellow body and fins. The tail spine at the base of the tail is white. These tangs are a highly recognized aquarium fish. Like other tangs, these fish are omnivores. They need plenty of algae and other greens in their diet to keep them healthy, but will also eat small bits of meaty foods. Algae can be provided in the form of Spirulina, formula foods, dried marine algae on clips as a frequent treat, or through live algae grown in the tank or in a refugium. Tangs are generally community fish and get along with most other tankmates. They do not bother corals and can actually help keep nuisance algae trimmed and under control. Tangs may get territorial and aggressive towards similar tangs, so always use caution when keeping these fish together.213467

This attractive cichlid is silvery-gold with black, horizontal, blotchy patches on the dorsal half, and a black stripe from the eye to the tail. Females develop red on their bellies, especially when mating, and males have iridescent blue-green spots particularly on the dorsal half. Other semi-aggressive cichlids make good tankmates, though this fish can become extremely aggressive when spawning. Use discretion when choosing tankmates if housing a pair of salvini. Feed them a variety of foods such as a hearty cichlid flake or pellet, as well as fresh vegetables. Tank decor can be basic rock or driftwood with plenty of hiding places and open swimming areas. Salvini are substrate spawners, and prefer a fine substrate.

Twoband Clownfish have two wide white stripes on their yellow-orange to orange-brown body. They are very similar to Clarkii Clownfish in appearance. It is usually best to keep one clownfish per tank, though a pair can sometimes be kept if one is significantly smaller (male) than the former (female). As the fish mature, they may also become aggressive towards new arrivals to the tank, so be prepared for aggression to follow even if the new fish is large in size. Clownfish are generally not fussy eaters, and will accept a range of frozen and prepared foods like flakes, pellets, and frozen formulas. They can benefit from some plant matter in their diet, although they are not considered herbivores. Tankraised clowns can be more resistant to aquarium diseases like Oodinium that can affect clownfish and other tank residents.Although the interaction between anemones and clownfish is amusing to watch, it is not necessary to the survival of either animal. Bicinctus Clownfish may bond with Bubble-tip, Long-tentacled, or Carpet anemones in time.

Female coloration of the Auratus is a pleasant combination of bright yellow with black horizontal stripes. Males have a similar coloration when juveniles, but they become mostly black with a horizontal white stripe, gray-brown in the dorsal area, and white markings on their fins. Albino variants are white, but the areas that would normally have dark coloration are yellow.Melanochromis are especially aggressive with other male melanochromis, particularly if there are females present, they should be housed in small harems with one male to several females, and may be housed with other Mbuna of similar size and aggression in a large tank.Tank decor can consist of plenty of rocky areas for hiding and territorial establishment. Feed a variety of foods including vegetable matter, as these fish are largely herbivores. Flake, pellet, and frozen meaty foods can also be fed for a well-rounded diet. This species is a maternal mouthbrooder, meaning the female keeps the eggs and fry in her mouth for protection.
