The Small Mouth Grunt has, not surprisingly, a smaller mouth than other grunts. It is iridescent blue with thin yellow stripes more widely spaced than other similar grunts. Grunts are common in the open water areas around reefs. They need lots of open area to swim. These fish are generally reef safe, though they will eat crustaceans like shrimp and may prey on very small fish as well. Feed a varied diet of meaty foods like shrimp, clams, scallops, and similar foods.236104
