Cardamine lyrata is a familiar aquarium plant which thrives under water. A characteristic trailing growth, round foliage, and golden green color makes it highly desireable. They do best in water temperatures from the mid 60's to the low 80's and are tolerant of a wide range of light intensity and hardness. These are fast growers and are easy to maintain.
The Yellow Canna provides broad, green, tropical foliage, and clusters of bright yellow flowers. They grow well in a sunny, marginal location. They are hardy to zone 7, but should be should be taken indoors in less temporate areas.
The Variegated Canna exhibits striking green and white striped foliage and orange, yellow, or red cluster blooms. They provide a lush and interesting backdrop to ponds and marginal areas. These plants are hardy to zone 7 and can be stored or wintered over indoors.
Cannas provide rich, tropical foliage and bright pink flowers to the margins of your pond. The wide, banana-like leaves grow to heights of about five feet. The tropical nature of these plants requires them to be kept indoors during extreme winter conditions either as dormant bulbs or as bright-light houseplants.

This terrarium plant prefers very moist soil in a high humidity environment and does well in terrariums or paladariums. It will decompose if left completely submerged for long. Its attractive fern appearance will add to any environment.
Bolbitis heudelotti is also known as the African Water Fern. A hardy plant, they will do well for both novice and expert aquarists. They are dark green in color and have lobed leaves that resemble terrestrial ferns. African Water Ferns can be planted directly attached to rocks or driftwood. When placing in the aquarium, place in an area where the plant will get plenty of current and a substantial amount of light.
Bacopa has thick, leafy strands of oval-shaped leaves usually reddish-brown to green in color. It provides nice contrast both with texture and color. This plant grows to an average height of about 12 inches and will develop thick roots if planted in finer gravel. Bacopa tends to grow best in harder water.
Anubias heterophylla has waxy thick, dark green foliage like others in its genus. The leaf of this species is large and more elongated than others. These are African plants, and will tolerate lower light and hard water. These plants are hardy and slow growing, and may be rooted directly onto rock or wood instead of being planted in the substrate.
Ammania is prized for its beautiful red-orange full foliage. Its requirements are high and it is often difficult to establish.
