The Reef Cowrie is a good addition to an aquarium that needs algae control. Cowries will graze almost every type of algae and do well in tanks with a lot of rockwork. Caution should be taken when purchasing a cowry because as they get larger, they may begin feeding upon sponges and soft corals.

The Spaghetti Leather Coral is usually white or tan in color and can have various colored polyps. It has long spaghetti-like extensions. Leather corals are good for beginners in that they are hardy and easy to keep. They grow best under medium to high light conditions with adequate water movement. Leather corals rely mainly on photosynthesis as a food source, but can benefit from additional zooplankton supplements. Short Tentacled Plate Coral - Small

Short Tentacle Plate Corals are bottom dwelling stony corals. Its skeleton forms a cupped disc with ridges that radiate from a central oral opening. These corals are found in a variety of colors, usually green, pink, or purple and are a relatively hardy species. Short tentacles extend upward on the upper side of the animal. These corals have a medium agressiveness rating because they are mobile on an open surface, and can sting other corals that it may come into contact. Place this specimen on a gravel or rubble bottom in direct light, with a medium to low water movement. They will produce their own food through photosynthesis but will also try frozen food such as mysis shrimp or brine shrimp. They are quite interesting to watch and will actually pass the food up the tentacles to the mouth of the coral.

Golden Polyps are hardy and colorful. Each rock is covered with these yellow polyps and can be placed and secured onto your existing rockwork or substrate. Golden Polyps get most of their nutrition from the water and by filter feeding. They can be traget-fed with particulate food like zooplankton, phytoplankton and similar liquid foods. They will also benefit from moderate lighting to benefit the symbiotic algae in the tissue of the polyps. These polyps will spread in ideal conditions. Do not place in a crowded area where this spread may become a nuisance.
