0

The Orangebanded or Manybarbed Stingfish is a scorpionfish, and may inflict a painful sting if startled. The dorsal spines of the fish inject the venom. These fish are interesting looking, with bulging eyes, a blunt face, and marbled brown coloration. The inside of the large pectoral fins are marked with bright orange markings which may serve as a warning to predators. These fish are predators, and will eat inverts and fish that are small enough to swallow. They spend the majority of their time blending with rock or substrate, lying in wait for prey to pass by. They use their pectoral fins to walk across the sandy bottom.Stingfish will eat small meaty foods like shrimp and clam, but may need to be enticed by live foods such as guppies or ghost shrimp. They are not aggressive, and should get along with tankmates of similar size.
